Huskies for Adoption

See below for a list of dogs currently

looking for homes

The dogs listed below have been placed in Husky Rescue foster homes.  Please contact the rescue volunteer listed with each profile, for more information about a particular dog.  All dogs in foster care are initially available to their new homes on a trial basis. Please note that ages listed may be an estimate.

 Kianna

This is Kianna - a pretty pale red and white female Husky. Her right
eye is blue and her left eye is mostly blue, with a splash of brown
(parti eye). Her vision is excellent, her hearing is great and for her
age she is a very healthy dog. Her teeth are in great condition and she
chews raw meaty bones as her staple food - no molly coddling for this
grand old lady!

You see, Kianna was born in 1998 and was the much loved pet of a gent
who found himself very reluctantly forced to put her up for re-homing
when he was urgently called back to the USA in early February 2010.

She spends most of her time indoors and is quiet, settles quickly, is
very friendly to people, and has basic obedience as well as a few tricks
- like shaking paws. All she wants is a space in a a corner close to
you where she can curl up and rest - and with the numbers of dogs we
have here, this is difficult for us to ensure.

She is good to walk on a
leash - but no marathons for her old bones, she enjoys the company of
other dogs and accepts all of the dogs we have here without a murmur.
We don't leave her out with the strong lively youngsters as she could
get knocked over in play - and she is too precious to let that happen.

Kianna has a lump on the wrist of her right front leg. It is noticeable
but not causing her any problems. We just bring it to your attention so
that it is not a surprise.

The first person to meet this lovely dog will take her home - please
let it be you!

Kianna is vaccinated, neutered, micro-chipped, lifetime registered, and
is in good health. She is located near Canberra and is available for a
small donation which will be used to help other Huskies in need.

your family

Gabbie

This is the lovely Gabbie. She is a pure white Siberian Husky with warm brown eyes. She is a lean tall girl with energy to burn. Gabbie was microchipped but no owner details were registered against her number. Her owners were not contactable and no one came forward to claim her. Gabbie was in a Sydney Pound and had numerous families put their name down to adopt to her. When the time came for her to be collected none of the new homes showed up so she has come in foster care with Husky Rescue.

Gabbie's age is estimated to be around 12-18mths and she is still very playfull and puppylike in her behaviour and antics towards other dogs. She gets on well with other dogs both male and female and would best suit a home with another dog for company due to her high energy levels.

Gabbie in the past appears to have been shown very little leadership and will need an owner who will participate in basic obedience training with her. At present she knows how to sit but is easily distracted and can be a little jumpy at times.

Gabbie will need regular exercise as well as time with her human family inside or she may turn destructive. This is a common reason why so many huskies of this age turn up in various pounds.

Gabbie will be available for the adoption fee of $350 which covers vaccinations, desexing, worming and lifetime registration.

She is located at Douglas Park NSW

The dogs listed below are being re-homed by their owners.  Whilst the registration details of each dog have been verified with council records, the accuracy of descriptions provided for each dog cannot be guaranteed.  Husky Rescue recommends organising a time to meet with the owner and their dog, before considering adoption, as trial periods may not be available in all cases. Please note that ages listed may be an estimate.

Yukon

Can anyone provide a temporary home for Yukon?

We are having some difficulty at the moment with housing and a few other circumstances and we don’t feel that it’s fair to Yukon to keep moving her around from a kennel to our friend’s places so frequently.

Ideally we would love to be able to find a temporary home for Yukon for the next 6 months as our circumstances will change and we would love to get her back! So if there is anyone out there who is willing to look after her for that time, please let us know because we really don’t want to give her up completely!

We do understand that temporary care is quite difficult to come by and understand that we may have to rehome Yukon permanently, so at this stage any help would be much appreciated!

Yukon is a female, 14 month old Siberian husky; she weighs 22kg, has beautiful light blue eyes, and is black, white, and grey in colour. Yukon is currently living in East Ballina on the Far North Coast of NSW. She has been desexed, vaccinated, heart wormed, all wormed, and tick and flea treated as often as required and has no history of medical problems.

We have had Yukon since she was 10 weeks old and she has grown up into a very loving, friendly, affectionate dog. She is playful, full of energy and loves to run! Yukon also has a very calm and relaxed temperament and will return the love you show to her tenfold! Yukon is an angel and has brought so much happiness to our lives! She loves kids and is very gentle with them and will very quickly become the child’s best friend!

Yukon loves to play, she makes friends with other dogs very easily and has never shown any signs of aggression towards them or to people. Yukon is very energetic so we take her out at least 2 – 3 times per day for a run. She loves to run alongside us while we ride our bikes or when we’re jogging, but her favourite thing to do is run on the dog beach where she is in her element, she loves the ocean and loves to swim!

Although Yukon is very happy and calm when left alone, she really loves and craves attention and affection! Just being in the company of someone or another dog, makes her happy. She really enjoys playtime but also enjoys just being around us. Yukon loves being outdoors and sleeping outside under the stars and where there is a cool breeze. If it is cooler inside she would prefer to be indoors.

It breaks our hearts to have to give up our beautiful Yukon, so all we want now is to find her a loving home and family! We’re not asking for any money for Yukon, however we do ask that a donation is made to Husky rescue to help them to continue their work!

As with all huskies her new home would need to have secure 6 foot fences and gates and have no small dogs or “pocket pets”. Her new owners would need to be able to walk/running her daily and continue with the training she has already received.

Chloey

Beautiful Chloey was raised by a couple whom regularly walked her or should i say she walked them, took her to on lead dog training, let her off at the local river to run around and chase the ducks. This was one spoilt dog.

Chloey was never an indoor dog due to her furry coat, she didn’t mind being outdoors in fact she use to love sleeping on the outdoor glass table, or relaxing on the grass in the sun.  Unfortunately her owners have done some renovations to their house bringing Chloeys living space restricted to  an in closed pool area which has no grass. Due to the couple having now 2 young boys, Chloeys walking time has been reduced, leaving her crying for attention, as she loves to live an active lifestyle.

Chloey does  not have a reputation for chewing or destroying clothes, or digging holes, although she loves an old shoe to rip around and to play with, after a walk she will help herself to the pool.

Chloey was born in June 2004 making her 5 ½  years old. She has been raised with babies, She is very hospitable around children and adults,  She loves company, She would suit an only dog home as this is all she has ever had. Chloey has socialised with other dogs at parks and outdoors and just likes to have a sniff and chase them. Chloey has never jumped fences to escape, she will need a secure fence at least 6 foot height to keep her safe.

Chloey is  a healthy female friendly, de sexed, micro chipped, regular vaccinations, worming and has no medical history, one brown one blue eye. Chloey knows her commands sit, drop, roll, shake, heel.
Chloey is lovable and kind and would adapt to a home with someone who can dedicate the time for her regular walking/ grooming. She will be great  around young children.

Chloey is located in Chipping Norton NSW and is availabe now for a $200 donation to Husky Rescue.

If you would like to find out more about Chloey or arrange to meet her please contact
