Overview

Leash on Life provides owners of Siberian Huskies with practical information on how to start turning problem behaviours around today.

The event runs with small groups in a relaxed atmosphere, and everyone receives individual attention.

The course provides:

     •  Important information on how to train, in plain English

     •  Reasons why problem behaviours occur, and practical ways to prevent or change them

           that can be used immediately

     •  Time to practice the training skills involved, by seeing them demonstrated, then trying them out

     •  Printed handouts covering all topics, including a comprehensive guide to Problems & Solutions

     •  Opportunity for Questions and Answers  

The course is run by the volunteers of Husky Rescue and has been compiled with input from trainers and behaviourists.  Only dog-friendly training methods are used.

Who Will Benefit

No previous training experience is required so the course provides an ideal introduction to problem solving for all owners.  Experienced trainers are also welcome as the techniques used can be applied at any skill level.

The course addresses problem behaviours - big or small - that make daily life frustrating or even unbearable.  No dog is immune from problem behaviours, and even well-trained dogs can do things that baffle their owners.  Leash on Life can help whether there's one behaviour to change or a dozen.

Problems Covered

The Top Ten problems covered are:

     1. Mouthing, Growling, Biting

     2. Destruction

     3. Escaping

     4. Disobedience

     5. Jumping Up on People

     6. Barking and Howling

     7. Separation Anxiety

     8. Urination and Toileting

     9. Fear of Noises

     10. Shyness

The problem of Pulling on Leash is also covered in the same detail, by popular demand.

Dates, Location and Cost

Dates are published on this page at least 1 week before each event.

Leash on Life events are run on-demand by the volunteers of Husky Rescue, at approximately 2-3 month intervals.

The course is offered free of charge, however reservations are always essential.
