SHCNSW hosts a variety of dog sledding events between May and September each year, at locations such as Belanglo State Forest, Wingello State Forst and Grabine Lakeside Resort. The premier event is The Sled Dog Shield held in July, and pointscore competition events are held throughout the season.
We start the season with "Mush Up", and conclude it with "Mush Down" and at all events, 1 and 2 dog classes pull 2-wheeled scooters, while 3 or more dogs pull various types of 3 and 4 wheeled rigs.
The club also runs a free Introduction to Sledding Day in April or May, just before Mush Up. Come along to this event to see what dog sledding is all about and give it a go with your own dog on the day!
Please check the calendar below for full details of the 2010 events.
