January is National Train Your Dog Month in USA!
Last year, Husky Rescue NSW, Australia (http://rescue.shcnsw.org.au)
approached Dr. Ian Dunbar to help spread the word about the vital role of training in preventing rescue cases, and to promote the
wealth of resources available at DogStarDaily.com.
Ian also allowed us to offer free downloads of his books BEFORE You Get Your Puppy and AFTER You Get Your Puppy
from our website. The promotion was so successful, that Dog Star Daily declared January to be Shelter Dog Prevention Month!
This year, the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (USA) has joined in making it official, and January is
National Train Your Dog Month at http://www.apdt.com.
Read more about this exciting initiative at http://www.dogstardaily.com/blogs/national-train-your-dog-month.
This year's theme is still the same:
Train your puppy, so your puppy doesn't become yet another shelter dog.
All shelter dogs were once puppies eager to learn how to live with people, yet as many as one third of
puppies born in Australia meet their end in shelters because their owners are unaware of how to prevent
predictable behaviour, temperament and training problems early in life - and the problem is repeated in
every country around the world.
Dr. Dunbar's essential puppy-raising books, BEFORE You Get Your Puppy and AFTER You Get Your Puppy, are still available
for FREE at http://training.shcnsw.org.au and now there are even more resources available at Dog Star Daily!
So, visit http://www.dogstardaily.com/free-downloads today to download
your free copy of the two books, plus the poster and all 16 Behaviour Blueprints (which can be customized
with your own business name and contact information) and email them to all your friends and colleagues,
to your local breeders, trainers, shelter workers, vets & pet stores - and to anyone that you know who is thinking of getting
a new puppy or has already acquired one.
Please spread the word!
Circulate this email, post it on blogs, forums, news groups
and web sites or print it and post it on your community notice board.
Do this today, to prevent another 1.9 million rescue dogs in USA and Australia alone in 2010.
For your chance to see Dr. Dunbar in person, please note:
Dr. Ian Dunbar is giving two February seminars
in Auckland and Christchurch, New Zealand - his last down-under.
